Dear Members:

After months of dealing with the COVID-19 virus and the ‘Stay Home, Stay Safe’ order, on behalf of the Board, it is with great pleasure that we would like to inform you that we plan to open the Club (weather permitting) on Wednesday, June 10th!

Due to the remaining State and Local rules and guidelines, we will be starting with a few changes as to how we will operate opening the season.  As the season progresses and if the rules and the guidelines change, the Board will change accordingly.  To open the season, in order to protect the Club in case of Wayne County performing a surprise inspection, the following actions are going to be implemented at the Club:

·       We will need to follow the rules of a park and will only be allowed to be open during daylight hours.  There will be a ‘sign-up’ for spots at the Club.  For the weekdays, Monday – Thursday and Friday afternoon, the days will be split into two sections with a limit of 160 Members.  We are limiting the Members to one timeslot per day.  The afternoon sections will be from 12:00pm – 4:30pm and the evening session will be from 5:00pm – 9:00pm.  This will allow for a half hour break for members to vacate the premises in a timely fashion so the Staff can clean and disinfect.  The Board has decided to implement this reservation system in order to prevent the Club from having to turn away Members and to balance out the usage of our Club.  Though the Grounds will be open, the club must adhere to the social distancing guidelines currently dictated by the State of Michigan. In addition, the County has limited the number of pool participants to 50% of pool capacity (which for BHSC is 160).  The Board has created a ‘sign-up genius’ page at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/bhscsignup610-619.  We ask that you please use discretion in signing-up to give everyone a fair chance to attend the Club equally.

·       For the weekends, on Friday night, we will have timeslots from 3:00pm – 6:00pm and 6:30pm –  9:30pm.  On Saturday and Sunday, we will have slots from 11:00am – 2:00pm; 2:30pm – 5:30pm; and from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.  We are limiting the Members to one timeslot per weekend.  This is to allow all members to have an opportunity to enjoy the Club.  We respectively request that all Members leave at your designated times so that the staff can clean and disinfect for the next grouping. The ‘sign-up genius’ will be available on Tuesday, June 9th at 8:00pm.  As with the weekday slots, the Board asks that you please use discretion in signing-up to give everyone a fair chance to attend the Club on the weekend.  In order to prevent the anticipated rush of the Members to use the Club, the Board will be limiting the number of spots to 60 Members (which is the number of tables we have at the Club).  Again, the Board is anticipating a random inspection from Wayne County and wants to avoid any appearance of impropriety that may cause the Club to be shut down.  If we fail and this happens, the Board does not know when Wayne County will be able to revisit, and the Club will be shut down until further notice.

The Board has decided to not allow guests at this time in order to maximize the availability of the grounds and pool to the Members.  There will also be no snack bar, however, the Club will be selling ice to our patrons.  Any children 16 or younger will need to be supervised by a parent, guardian or designated caregiver of the Membership.

The Club will be posting arrows throughout the entrance and exit ways of the pavilion as well as into the restrooms to provide proper social distancing etiquette to prevent ‘pinch points’ and allow for the proper ‘flow’ throughout the Club.  There will only be 6 tables under the pavilion, and these will be reserved for handicapped and elderly Members.  There will be an entrance to the pool and a separate exit to the pool.  For the Main Pool, the east gate (by the kiddie pool) will be used for the entrance and the west gate (by the clubhouse) will be used for the exit. Signs will be posted for all entrance and exit ways.

We are counting on the integrity, discipline and patience of the Members to follow the State and Local guidelines so that the Club can remain open.  The Board asks that you respect and follow the direction of the Staff so that things run as smooth as possible.  Please remember that you are responsible for your actions and the actions of your children.  The Staff and Board will not tolerate behavior that does not adhere to the guidelines set forth; the Board will be adopting a ‘zero tolerance’ policy for those that do not abide by these rules.  Once the Board sees how the Club is running, we will be sending out additional communications in the coming weeks.

Once again, the Board is very happy to announce the opening of Burton Hollow Swim Club on Wednesday, June 10th.  We are looking forward to moving towards normalcy after dealing with the COVID-19 virus.  We look forward to seeing you at the Club this season!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Sincerely,

Brian Olech
